      Travel guide: Jaipur

Easier than you thinkJaipur Airport is only about 9 km (around 20 minutes) from Civil Lines. It is one of India's e-Visa entry airports, and Delhi is about an hour away by domestic flight. Jaipur is very used to visitors.

      Getting there

From Jaipur Airport (JAI) to Jaipur Club on Jacob Road, Civil Lines, is about 9 km: roughly 20–30 minutes by Uber/Ola for about ₹250–500 (≈ US$3–6).

From your hotel to the venue

      From the official hotel

The official stay is Jaipur Club itself, so the courts are a short walk from your room.

      Staying somewhere else

      Civil Lines
Same district as the club, with hotels and restaurants; about 5 min by cab, about INR 50–100.
      MI Road / C-Scheme
Busy central area about 2 km away; about 10 min by cab, about INR 80–150.
      Bani Park (station area)
Hotel cluster near Jaipur Junction; about 15 min by cab, about INR 100–200.

Tip: Uber, Ola and Rapido work in Jaipur; the airport is about 10 km (20–30 min) from Civil Lines. Tell the driver "Jaipur Club, Jacob Road".

      • Johari & Bapu BazaarsOld-city markets for jewellery, textiles, juttis and crafts. About 15 min by car; bargaining is expected.

      Food

      Paying & staying connected

Cards work at hotels, restaurants and larger shops; use rupee cash in bazaars and auto-rickshaws. Most foreigners can't use UPI, but the UPI One World wallet is an option. Apply for India's e-Visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa at least 4 days ahead. Uber/Ola work well; set up an eSIM before you fly.

      Staying safe

As a tourist hub, expect touts and the 'that shop is closed, come to mine' trick; never join gem-reselling deals. Drink bottled water and use Uber/Ola. Winter air can be hazy on some days, and summers are very hot.

      With family & friends

The Pink City's Hawa Mahal and City Palace are about 15–20 minutes by car, and hilltop Amber Fort is a highlight. Bazaars are great for textiles and crafts.

Prices and details are rough guides (researched in 2026). Please check the latest before you travel.

      Booking tips

      • Book one night at a time, so you can cancel just the nights after you lose.
      • Some hotels (e.g. Toyoko Inn in Japan) offer rates you can cancel free until shortly before arrival when booked on their own site. Deadlines differ by hotel and rate — always check before booking.
      • The cancellation deadline can differ between a booking site and the hotel's own site.
      • On Airbnb, a home with a "Flexible" cancellation policy usually gives a full refund up to a day before.
