Travel guide: Shenzhen
Easier than you thinkShenzhen borders Hong Kong, and Metro Line 10 runs from the Futian Checkpoint straight to Pinghu, where the venue is, with no changes. Arriving via Hong Kong or Shenzhen's airport are both easy.
Getting there
From Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, take Metro Line 11 towards Futian and change to Line 10 for Pinghu (roughly 1–1.5 hours). From Hong Kong, cross at Futian Checkpoint and ride Line 10 to Pinghu. Pinghu also has a railway station. Take a taxi or DiDi from the station to the venue.
From your hotel to the venue
From the official hotel
Mercure (深圳龙岗坤宜美居酒店, 33 Fenghuang Avenue) is in the same Pinghu subdistrict of Longgang as the venue, a short taxi/DiDi ride; the organiser gives no distance, so check the time in the app. Nearest metro is Shuangyong Street (Line 10); Pinghu Station is about 3 km, about 10 min by car.

Staying somewhere else
- Pinghu Station (Line 10)
- Many hotels and restaurants around Pinghu metro/rail station. The venue is in the same Pinghu subdistrict, a short taxi/DiDi ride away.
- Futian centre
- Metro Line 10 from Futian Checkpoint to Pinghu is 22 stops, about 1 hour, under CNY 10; then a short taxi to the venue. Best for food and shopping.
Tip: Use DiDi or Amap for rides; we couldn't find a reliable Chinese name for Koish Sports, so ask the organiser for the Chinese address and show it to your driver.

Things to see nearby

Paying & staying connected
Pay mostly by Alipay or WeChat Pay; both accept foreign Visa/Mastercard after ID verification (3% fee over ¥200). Carry some cash too. Google, WhatsApp and most Western apps need roaming or a travel eSIM. Ride-hailing: DiDi. In Hong Kong, HKD and an Octopus card help. Japan, Korea, Australia, NZ and much of Europe get 30-day visa-free entry until 31 Dec 2026.
Staying safe
Shenzhen generally feels calm, but mind pickpockets in crowds. Use the taxi queue or DiDi rather than drivers who approach you. Watch for e-bikes on pavements and drink bottled water. Summers are hot and humid with possible typhoons.
With family & friends
In Longgang, Dafen Oil Painting Village (Line 3, Dafen station) is a lively lane of art studios and galleries. Line 10 takes you to central Futian for shopping, or on to Hong Kong for a day trip.
Prices and details are rough guides (researched in 2026). Please check the latest before you travel.
