Travel guide: Moradabad
Easier than you thinkMoradabad is about 160 km from Delhi, roughly 2.5 hours by train, so you can continue straight from an international arrival in Delhi. It is famous as India's 'Brass City'.
Getting there
Fly into Delhi (DEL), then take a train from New Delhi station to Moradabad Junction in about 2.5 hours (roughly ₹100–1,200 depending on class). By car or taxi, allow 2.5–3 hours. From the station, an auto-rickshaw or car reaches Civil Lines.
From your hotel to the venue
From the official hotel
Hotel AMARA (Kanth Road) and Hotel Rajmahal (Court Road, Civil Lines) are both about 800 m from the venue per the organiser: about a 10-min walk or 5 min by auto/e-rickshaw (about INR 30–50).

Staying somewhere else
- Civil Lines
- Same district as the venue; about 5–10 min on foot or by auto.
- Railway station area
- Hotels near Moradabad station; about 10 min by auto, about INR 50–100.
- Budh Bazaar
- Central market district with many hotels; about 10–15 min by auto, about INR 50–100.
Tip: The listed airports (Jewar, Lucknow) are far away, so most players arrive by train from Delhi; in town autos and e-rickshaws rule, so agree the fare before you ride.

Things to see nearby
- Peetal Mandi (Brass Market)Market of the 'Brass City', packed with brassware and handicrafts. About 15 min by car; great for souvenirs.
- Jama Masjid17th-century Mughal-style mosque with a large courtyard. About 15 min by car; dress modestly.
- Rampur Raza LibraryLibrary founded in 1774 with rare Indo-Islamic manuscripts, in Rampur. About 45-60 min by car.
- Prem Wonderland Water ParkAmusement and water park with slides and a wave pool, popular with families.
Food
Biryani and the local speciality Moradabadi dal, served with toppings, are the dishes to try. There are few big chains, so hotel restaurants and busy local eateries are the safe choices.

Paying & staying connected
Mostly cash (rupees); hotels and bigger shops take cards. Don't rely on ride-hailing; ask your hotel to arrange cars. Enter India via Delhi with an e-Visa (indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa, apply at least 4 days ahead). Set up an eSIM before you fly.
Staying safe
North Indian winters (roughly November–January) bring poor air and dense fog that can delay trains. Bring masks and leave spare time. Drink bottled water and eat freshly cooked food. Roads are busy, so hotel-arranged cars are the easiest option.
With family & friends
Browse brassware and handicrafts at Peetal Mandi, the brass market. The hilltop Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and 18th-century Najibudaulah's Fort are also worth a visit.
Prices and details are rough guides (researched in 2026). Please check the latest before you travel.

Booking tips
- Book one night at a time, so you can cancel just the nights after you lose.
- Some hotels (e.g. Toyoko Inn in Japan) offer rates you can cancel free until shortly before arrival when booked on their own site. Deadlines differ by hotel and rate — always check before booking.
- The cancellation deadline can differ between a booking site and the hotel's own site.
- On Airbnb, a home with a "Flexible" cancellation policy usually gives a full refund up to a day before.
